Who is Illenium’s New Wife, Lara McWhorter?

Lara McWhorter is a digital artist, creative, and fine art painter who just tied the knot with her husband Illenium.

Born in Colorado and raised in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Illenium’s new wife Lara McWhorter described her childhood as an “unconventional upbringing.” Being immersed in the rich culture of Middle Eastern life, she was inspired from an early age by tapestry, artistry, calligraphy, and artifacts.

After returning to the United States, she channeled her inspiration from her upbringing into her painting and artistic endeavors. In high school, Lara embraced acrylics and oils as mediums for painting and found inspiration from artists before her time like Andy Warhol and Voka.

When Lara started attending the University of Boulder, she turned away from art and focused on academics. It wasn’t until after graduating that she was able to step back into her artistic passions. She expressed, “I decided it was finally time to turn my artistic dreams into reality.”

Her previous artistic aspirations landed her a job heading the art and merchandising team for Illenium in 2019. This is where Nicolas Miller and Lara McWhorten met and fell in love. Since then, Lara has been the creative mastermind behind most of the art that is featured in Illenium’s catalog. Today, she creates and directs the artwork for Illenium’s merchandise which resonates with fans at a profound level. She also has experience being a creative consultant working on music videos and story development.

Lara Ashley is the official artistic name that Illenium’s wife uses when selling her art. Although the primary form of inspiration for her art is her upbringing, it seems as though her husband Nicholas Miller, a.k.a Illenium, is now her muse as well.

On her website, you can find a collection of portraits of Illenium featured within themes of nature and landscapes. Included below are some of the paintings she has for sale on her website today. Make sure to check out her portfolio here and look out for her upcoming artwork on Illenium’s new music covers.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
