 A cultural bedrock of Amsterdam since 1996, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) returns next week from October 18-23.  Self-proclaimed as the “most upfront and influential gathering” in the industry, ADE has transformed from a three-day conference to a five-day conference/festival combo. Cercle and W Hotels kick off their partnership with a bang on October 18 as ADE attendees gain access to this intimate experience. If you’re looking for immaculate first-day vibes, join Cassian along with Julya Karma and Eynka to groove into the sunset.

2. BOOTSHAUS X DILLON FRANCIS INVITE @ Club Prime

Whether you’re an EDM veteran or new to the scene, resident Dillon Francis is a household name with iconic tracks like “IDGAFOS” and “Coming Over”. Together with Persian-Canadian house artist Nostalgix and rising star Toby Romeo, get ready for a “mad decent” party 😉

3. Insomniac Records presents Mau P @ Thuishaven

Thuishaven’s multi-stage setup, industrial atmosphere, and curious decorations will undoubtedly add to Mau P’s gritty tech house vibes. The Amsterdam native will be playing from open to close, showing us just how it goes down in his hometown.

2. AWAKENINGS ADE 2023 – ADAM BEYER PRESENTS DRUMCODE @ Gashouder

As if techno maestro Adam Beyer’s appearance weren’t enough, this Drumcode event is absolutely teeming with industry talent.  From Eli Brown to Layton Giordani, prepare yourself for an earful of bass and a roaring good time.

3. Audio Obscura x Cuttin’ Headz @ RAW Factory

Anyone familiar with The Martinez Brothers or their label Cuttin’ Headz knows they serve an impressive range of sleek and sultry underground beats. Together with minimal and tech house wonders Mochakk, Beltran, and Chris Stussy, you can expect a night of sexy beats and nonstop dancing.

1. Verknipt ADE Friday @ World Fashion Centre

Techno fans look no further – this will definitely Be the One for you!  With rising stars such as Eli Brown and Fatima Hajji, as well as Oliver Heldens’ techno alias HI-LO, Verknipt promises to pack quite the punch.

2. Our House, Meduza & James Hype @ Hembrugterrein (Black Box)

Following their fruitful Ibiza residency, James Hype and Meduza are taking their “Our House” party to new heights at Amsterdam Dance Event 2023. Located at the Hembrugterre in Amsterdam Noord, these dance music geniuses will be accompanied by equally synonymous support acts  GENESI and Tita Lau for a roaring night.

3. Paradise x Loveland @ Mediahaven

Saturday (10/21)

1. Franky Wah presents Shèn Boatparty @ Docks 1

Amid a slew of other boat parties including the legendary Anjunabeats label, Franky Wah’s deep and rhythmic sound offers an escape from the chaos of the weekend. Featuring Kalisma and Sasha as support, get ready to transport to another world with Shèn on the sea. Tickets are still available here.

2. Dockyard Festival @ Havenpark

Techno titans such as Anfisa Letyago, Chris Liebing, and Ilario Alicante are coming together for another scintillating edition of Dockyard Festival during ADE. Ultimately, Dockyard’s grungy yet vibrant energy provides the perfect setting for hours upon hours of techno to the ears.

3. BCD presents: FFRR Label Night @ Jimmy Woo

Founded in 1986, Full Frequency Range Recordings (FFRR) knows quite a bit about throwing a good party. Both fresh on the scene, Aaron Hibell and Alex Wann have each carved a unique niche with their revivals of deep house and trance. Accompanied by Jimmy Woo’s iconic atmosphere and lighting system, these up-and-coming artists will questionably light up the night.

Sunday (10/22)

1. SW ADE Closing @ De Kromhouthal

Strafwerk’s event will surely breathe new life into Amsterdam Dance Event 2023 for one last night of mesmerizing light shows and upbeat music. Featuring hot names such as Hot Since 82 and Joris Voorn, there will definitely be no scaries here.

2. Awakenings ADE 2023 @ Gashouder

Afterlife regulars Kevin de Vries, Kölsch, and Mind Against are amongst those here to shepherd you into the morning hours with cutting-edge sounds and visuals. This mix of deep and melodic techno should undoubtedly hold you over until your next music event.

3. Matroda & Friends @ NOVA

Croatian tech house wonder Matroda makes a triumphant return to ADE 2023 with Matroda & Friends following a fully sold-out event last year. A tried-and-true blowout event, there’s likely no better way to close out a weekend of nonstop partying than right here.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now.
