REZZMAU5 Release New Single “Infraliminal” Remixed From One of Deadmau5’s Original Tracks

REZZ and deadmau5 release a new single “Infraliminal” under their joint alias REZZMAU5, remixed from one of deadmau5’ original tracks “Superliminal.”

Releasing under the alias REZZMAU5 for the first time ever, deadmau5 and REZZ are celebrating Friday, October 13 with their new single “Infraliminal.” Inspired by the classic deadmau5 track “Superliminal,” the two dubstep producers revealed a remix to the tune that incorporates REZZ’s sound with deadmau5’s legendary style.

Released via deadmau5’s label mau5trap, “Infraliminal” is the debut single of REZZ and deadmau5’s joint project REZZMAU5. The song begins in slow motion and builds up to a deep dub drop that exudes REZZ’s signature hypnotic technique. With overwhelming depth and hints of ethereal melodies, the song’s darkness is a testament to what can be expected from the new REZZMAU5 alias. 

Being such a prominent name in dance music, deadmau5 has been REZZ’s mentor and partner in production since the start of her career. Early on in REZZ’s journey, she explains that “Superliminal,” from deadmau5’s 2012 LP ‘>album title goes here<,’ motivated her to produce music and curate her own identity. 

“’Superliminal’ is my favorite deadmau5 track. That’s one of the key songs that stunned me and I immediately had to learn to produce music. I put my own lil spin on it, while Joel also did his own lil spin, and we combined it together for now called ‘Infraliminal’,” shares REZZ.

Although most of the work deadmau5 and REZZ do together is behind the scenes, REZZMAU5 is finally giving fans a look into what goes on in their studio sessions. In 2021, the two artists previously collaborated on a track together titled “Hypnocurrency,” which boasts progressive beats and atmospheric chords. Plus, earlier this year, the duo played their first REZZMAU5 set at VELD Music Festival. Now, deadmau5 and REZZ are taking their project to the next level with the REZZMAU5 “Infraliminal” debut. 

While it’s unclear where REZZMAU5 will take the two producers in the future, it seems that “Infraliminal” is just the beginning. Individually, REZZ and deadmau5 are renowned for their cohesive aesthetics and unique soundscapes. But together, a REZZMAU5 set is undoubtedly high on the list of performances that dubstep lovers can’t miss.
