Dom Dolla Closes Out Summer Singles With Brighton Beach-Born “Saving Up”

After rinsing listeners for nearly 12 months BEFORE its release, Dom Dolla’s “Saving Up” is finally out. 

Following the success of his latest singles, “Eat Your Man” and “Rhyme Dust” – Dom Dolla ends his summer tune streak with an epic hat trick. His newest release, “Saving Up” proves the caliber of his producing abilities as the heartfelt tune already is well-known by avid showgoers.

2023 is cemented as one of the best years in Dom Dolla’s career and he is not slowing down. The producer has recently earned 6 ARIA nominations for his work this year on his massive club hits. Already a winner of the prestigious producing award for his song, “San Frandisco,” the critically acclaimed Dom Dolla continues his hot streak with another late summer disco anthem. 

The meaning behind “Saving Up,” comes from the idea of saving time to spend with those you love. The track emulates a touch of personal and reflective connotations as well. When commenting on the writing process for his new single, Dom Dolla dove deeply into sharing the inspiration behind the tune. Whilst in the UK after his 2022 Summer Tour, Dom Dolla met some friends in Brighton and ended up in a studio overlooking the beach. “I was missing home a bit, but felt really inspired and wanted to write a feel-good record, reminding myself of the importance of saving time for the ones I care about and love.”

The studio happened to be the same place where Fatboy Slim had hosted his Big Beach Boutique concert. He continued, “I was thinking about the UK’s dance music history and it inspired me so I decided to lean into the idea of writing something that sounds sampled but isn’t.” What came from this studio session was the uptempo, disco-flavored banger, “Saving Up.”

Dom Dolla was able to create a tune that has a distinct sample-like quality though it has 100% original composition and lyrics. Since Dom Dolla likes to write records completely on his own, he was able to capture a familiar sound on the new track while being completely authentic. With the help of Clementine Douglas, Caitlin Stubbs, & Toby Scott in his writing process – the newest track now sits at the top of his impressive catalog, which is fast approaching ONE BILLION streams.
