Justin Jay Teams Up With Disco Lines For Buzzing New Single “Heartbreak Hangover”

Justin Jay and Disco Lines are exploring heartbreak and shaking it off in their new song, “Heartbreak Hangover.”

Released on Good Good Records and Major Recordings, “Heartbreak Hangover” by Disco Lines and Justin Jay takes the listener on a journey of ups and downs. The song begins with a flute on top of a calming melody and gentle vocals. It continues to lean into a tropic sound with the flute loop continuing to the end.

As the song builds, the tempo picks up and transitions into drum and bass. The simple, electrifying beat is captivating, beautifully complimenting the pop vocals. The lyrics are sad but hopeful and the artists both emphasized leaning on friends in their announcement posts.

The hook, “How do we love in a heartbreak hangover?”, speaks to the impact that love can have on a person. Singer-songwriter Mags Duval shared her experience about writing the song, sharing that it was written in London last October with Hoskins.

To Disco Lines and Justin Jay, she wrote, “…y’all are so amazing and knocked this out of the park- turned our dreamy melancholic madness into an absolute dance banger. Thank you for believing in this song and I’m honored you kept my voice on it!”

Disco Lines has been consistently rolling out new creations this year, dropping over ten tracks since January. “Heartbreak Hangover” follows “I Got You” and “RWEOK?” with ayokay and demotapes respectively. The DJ remixed “Can’t Hang” by Justin Jay in a few months ago, marking their first release together.

Justin Jay is an impressive producer and performer, working with Skrillex, GRiZ, Skream, and more during his career. He and Disco Lines have garnered millions of streams and “Heartbreak Hangover” is sure to be another hit. Watch the visualizer for “Heartbreak Hangover” by Justin Jay and Disco Lines here:
