GRiZ Releases Huge Catalog of Live Edits with Free Downloads Ahead of Hiatus

GRiZ releases a massive catalog of live edits with free downloads on Soundcloud ahead of his hiatus coming up in October.

With a hiatus on the horizon, GRiZ is doing everything he can to take care of his fans. In June, the Michigan-born artist announced he was going to take a break from the music scene after the summer. Since then, GRiZ has been going above and beyond with festival performances, special sets, and now, a massive catalog of unreleased live edits.

Recently, the producer, real name Grant Kwiecinski, posted a tracklist on Instagram titled ‘ID Bible (1) + Live drops & flips.’ Including the names of 24 unreleased songs and live edits, the picture revealed that they all would be available for free download on Soundcloud on September 20. As the EDM industry’s master of bass-infused funk, GRiZ is ensuring his legacy will live on through this list of exclusive tunes.

From a bass house edit of him and Clozee’s collab “Color Of Your Soul,” to an edit of Elton John’s “Rocket Man,” GRiZ was not holding out when curating this catalog. However, an overwhelming majority of tracks are unreleased GRiZ originals featuring a variety of samples. “Supersonic” starts off the list with a high-energy headbanger rendition of Ciara’s classic “One, Two Step” and Lana Del Rey’s unreleased “Jealous Girl.” Plus, his track “Infinite Bloom” is a twist on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s iconic “Innerbloom” and “Let Him Cook” samples Tyler The Creator’s “DOGTOOTH” and a popular meme audio.

Following the Instagram post, fans were, quite literally, ecstatic to know they’d be able to stream their favorite live GRiZ tracks. One commented, “GRIZ GRIZZZZ HOLY S*** THIS IS LIKE MORE THAN AN ALBUM, THIS IS EVERYTHING I’VE EVER WANTED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.” Another responded, “You are the man for this grant! Free tunes for the people!”

Until his hiatus in October, GRiZ is the gift that keeps on giving. Just when fans thought it was almost over, two weeks ago the producer announced his final show indefinitely. On October 5, GRiZ will perform a doubleheader in Denver with back-to-back shows at Fillmore and Mission Ballroom. To no surprise, he will be going out with a bang in the bass capital of America, where he currently lives.

From stacking his summer festival schedule with events like Bonnaroo, Shambhala, and Secret Dreams to throwing GRiZMAS In July and hosting pop-up shops, GRiZ is putting every last bit of energy into his loyal fans. And although he will be greatly missed by the EDM community, he’s left plenty for those to remember him by until his return.
