Alok Celebrated Birthday with Record-Breaking Show on Copacabana Beach

Alok celebrated his 32nd birthday with his iconic “Show of the Century” for Copacabana Palace’s 100th anniversary.

Alok pulled out all the stops for his 32nd birthday. On August 26, the Brazilian producer went back to his roots for his iconic Show of the Century celebration. At none other than the famous Copacabana Beach in Brazil, Alok threw himself a record-breaking party in tandem with celebrating Copacabana Palace’s 100th anniversary. 

Broadcasted on Brazilian national television, Alok’s birthday turned out a massive attendance. From breaking the record for gathering the largest crowd ever on the Rio de Janeiro beach to premiering his new song “Jungle,” Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo’s Show of the Century popped off.

Coming off of the release of his collab with Pickle “Drum Machine”, the Brazilian producer had a full arsenal to share with fans. With hundreds of thousands of tourists and locals gathered together, the event was ideal for Alok to debut “Jungle.” The track features The Chainsmokers and Mae Stephens and boasts ethereal melodies with a heavy hitting techno drop. Not to be released until September 22, the debut was the cherry on top of this one-of-a-kind night. 

Renowned for hosting historic performances from The Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz, and Stevie Wonder, Copacabana Beach is no stranger to curating extravagant events. Alongside Alok’s Show of the Century, Copacabana Palace celebrated its 100th anniversary doubling the occasions stature. 

Likened to the size of his New Year’s Eve event, over 900 police officers were on duty to ensure safety on the premises as Alok took attendees on a journey of samba and funk, the country’s two most popular genres. Paying tribute to his home in more ways than one, Alok arranged special initiatives with the money that was made. Throughout the rest of August, the Alok Institute partnered with gynecologists and dentists to provide care to locals in an effort to reduce the waiting list for Brazil’s public healthcare system. 

From putting on an epic record-breaking birthday party to celebrating Brazil through music and philanthropic initiatives, Alok did not disappoint with his Show of the Century. And although the party is over, anticipation is high for the release of his new single, “Jungle.”
