Colyn Brings Grandfather on Stage for His First Festival Ever

Precious grandfather of melodic techno producer and DJ Colyn becomes a master crowd-controller at SW Festival.

Imagine this. You have gone through the longevity of your life without ever attending an electronic music festival (crazy, right?). You wake up one day and suddenly keep reminding yourself throughout the morning that you are about to attend your first festival ever…to watch your talented grandson, Colyn, perform to a sea of people.  There are no expectations of what you are going to experience today, but there is that bright light present inside; floating around knowing it is a great day to have a great day!

Colyn has come a long way in the last nine years as an electronic producer. Since the breakthrough of his track ‘Amor’ was released on the Afterlife label, all eyes have been on the Amstredam-based talent for his signature dreamscape sound. Through every success, Colyn has reached the pinnacle by having the honor and privilege of bringing his grandfather to Arnhem, Netherlands for SW Festival.

The melodic techno producer posted on Instagram a bird’s eye view of how much fun his grandfather was having being a backstage menace and spirit king. Grandpa was full of vivacious energy, waving his hands along with the crowd, being a total crowd controller. 

The hug shared between the two family members mid-set is what must make moments like this so special for Colyn. It all comes full circle. Certainly, this memory will stay with Colyn for the rest of time.

The comments under the Instagram post are filled with so many grandpa love with familiar faces, like Carlita, Mind Against, and Dubfire, admiring how cute Colyn’s grandfather is. Other comments were filled with so much support, recognizing how important and precious it must have been for the Amstredam-based electronic producer to experience this moment. Grandparents are so special, let’s encourage more electronic producers to bring their parents and family to shows (mandatory earplugs though!).

Can we start a petition for Colyn to continue bringing his grandfather to more of his sets? (Cough cough, can we also petition for Colyn’s grandpa and Fisher’s mum to become besties, because that would be iconic.)
