Keys N Krates Announce Third Studio Album IN:TENSION With House and Hip Hop Influences

Keys N Krates return with their junior album IN:TENSION, influenced by components of House and Hip-Hop elements.

The trio’s third studio album will be dropping this fall and incorporates their lifelong appreciation of house music mixed with their hip-hop roots. This announcement comes with the release of their single, “Higher” which can be streamed now on all platforms.

This new track is a prime example of how the group abridges their signature style of producing EDM & trap sound with their ability to integrate compositions of sampling, synths/keys, and percussion. Since breaking into the scene in the mid-2010s, the group has done a substantial job preserving their origionality while infusing new influences into their music.

The new album “IN: TENSION” serves as a double meaning for Keys N Krates – as it is meant to blend the realms of hip-hop and electronic music like fans have never heard before. Their intention is to twist the two genres into one. The title also references a new type of energy that has been sourced from different aspects and influences throughout the trio’s life.

Originally trifling with housey beats and production, the group’s upcoming album embraces influences in their life such as Armand Van Helden and Masters At Work. The third album precedes their US tour later this fall. Fans got a preview of Keys N Krates upcoming music at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere – and expressed their excitement towards the upcoming tour on social media.

The IN: TENSION Tour is titled after their approaching album which will be kicking off in September. The 16-stop tour will stop at house/techno-focused cities including San Francisco, Detroit, Chicago, Washington D.C., and more.

Keys N Krate’s most recent single, “Higher” follows after a series of singles “Say You Love Me,” “Get Up” and “What Girls Do,” which emulate their signature house sound. Make sure to check out their upcoming tour dates below and follow Keys N Krates on their socials below.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
