Watch Travis Scott Perform with Black Coffee at Hï Ibiza

Travis Scott and Black Coffee came together on stage last Saturday at HÏ Ibiza, grooving to the music.

Legendary house DJ, Black Coffee has been tearing up the dance floor for almost three decades, securing a GRAMMY and eight South African Music Awards. Every Saturday, the artist takes over the decks at Hï Ibiza and keeps the crowd dancing as he welcomes special guests. Last weekend, he invited Houston rapper, Travis Scott, on stage at the infamous nightclub

Videos show the pair getting down to Black Coffee’s music, surrounded by jumping fans as strobe lights shine around them. As Black Coffee mixes, Travis Scott is captured adding his own ad-libs and bouncing to the beats on stage. Renowned for his DJing skills and production contributions to house music, Black Coffee bringing the rapper on stage completely shocked fans.

Travis Scott has vague ties to electronic music outside of his own music, but in 2020, the rapper asked DJs to stay on the lookout for music from him, suggesting that he may have been dipping his toes into the genre. Shortly after, HVME flipped the rapper’s hit, “Goosebumps,” into a house track and later released it on Cactus Jack Records.

Contradictory to the videos shared by Hï Ibiza, not everyone was excited about the rapper joining Black Coffee. Many noted the consistent safety issues surrounding his performances, including allegedly assaulting an audio engineer and the Astroworld tragedy, spurring a conversation about the core values of electronic music. One commenter said, “Not a fan of this guy, especially after the accident [sad face emoji]. Black Coffee doesn’t need a partner like this.”

Other posts on social media were flooded with fire emojis, implying that the two coming together was exciting. Black Coffee thanked Travis Scott for coming out, noting the good energy that the club performance brought last weekend. This year, the DJ also brought out artists like Drake and The Martinez Brothers.

Black Coffee is continuing his residency at Hï Ibiza through September and he has promised more surprise guests. Watch videos of Travis Scott and Black Coffee at the iconic nightclub here:
