Silvermouse is a unique duo creating mind-bending soundscapes while utilizing Monroe Sound Science to take listeners on a journey of sound like never before. Monroe Sound Science combines various sound techniques like binaural beats, frequency manipulation, amplitude modulation, and phase modulation to guide listeners into beneifical states of expanded awareness.

The creative force behind this duo is Jo Hunt and Justin Handley, not only musical partners but also life partners. Justin, a skilled multi-instrumentalist, crossed paths with Jo when she attended one of his early solo shows. It was here that Jo recognized his vision and with her 90s UK rave kid background knew she could expand on it even further.

Thus, Silvermouse was born. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 2009, recorded in a single take within their Santa Fe, New Mexico living room. The two continued to combine their talents to create a musical language characterized by layered instrumentals infused with a mix of electronica textures, including techno, house, and drum & bass.

Silvermouse’s current project, Psychoactive, is described as a deep journeying dive into the potential of music as a psychoactive entity. Jo and Justin push the boundaries of sound and cognition by experimenting with spatial audio and Monroe Sound Science brainwave entrainment technology. This fusion aims to induce a meditative dream-like state while awake, immersing listeners in an exploration of heightened awareness integrated into the music itself. Silvermouse is the first band to do this in a live performance.
