Peggy Gou is a South Korean-born DJ and producer currently based in Berlin. She initially picked up DJing as a fun hobby, but the universe had other plans. For those unfamiliar with her, she is a true electronic dance music and fashion icon.

While she’s been on the rise and extremely recognizable in the underground scene for years now, she’s recently gained further recognition in the mainstream thanks to her newest captivating single, “(It Goes Like) Nanana.” If you’re a Tik Tok enthusiast, you know exactly what trendy song we’re referring to.

Born Kim Min-Ji in Incheon, South Korea, Peggy Gou began practicing music at a young age. Her ongoing passion for music, art, and fashion led her to pursue her grand solo move to the UK at the age of 18 to study fashion at The London College of Fashion. Throughout her time in London, she became even more enamored with the art of DJing, a skill one of her good friends from back home in Korea had taught her beforehand.

Her debut gig was at the distinguished Cirque Le Soir nightclub in Soho, and she was eventually offered a weekly residency at The Book Club in East London. Once she learned to produce music on Ableton Live, the rest was history. Intermittently, she was a renowned editor for Harper’s Bazaar Korea before her DJ/producer career ignited at an all-time high following her move to Berlin.

Living in Berlin opened exhilarating new doors of opportunity for the esteemed producer. She instantly became an ingenious symbol of true underground electronic beats once deciding to dedicate her all to this exhilarating industry. Her entire discography features a wide array of diverse electro, house, and techno-infused tunes, each one flawlessly encapsulating that one-of-a-kind Peggy Gou sound.

Throughout her career, she’s garnered performance slots at some of the world’s most renowned venues and festivals like Printworks, Tomorrowland, Time Warp, Kappa Futur, and Parklife Festival among many others. Now, Peggy Gou has managed to cultivate a tremendous following all on her own and is perceived as a tremendous leader when it comes to advocating for women’s rights. She recently made waves in the music industry by curating an all-women lineup for her Italian tour performances, a concept we’re totally here for.

With 3.3 million followers on Instagram and nearly 15.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, it’s safe to say that Peggy Gou has truly made a name for herself.
