Mathame Reveals Cinematic 13-Track Debut Album ‘MEMO’ on Astralwerks

Cinematic techno duo Mathame releases their 13-track debut album ‘MEMO’ on Astralwerks.

Brothers by blood and bound by their interstellar sound, Mathame’s long-awaited debut LP ‘MEMO’ was released on June 30 via the renowned Astralwerks label. The Sicilian-born duo, Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli are cinematic techno titans at the crux of their creative journey.

Mathame initially teased their album release in May with “Feel Your Ghost” featuring Tiësto— a hit collaboration that peaked on Billboard’s Hot Dance Chart at #22. In 2018, they immediately gained massive international recognition when they debuted on Afterlife with their ‘Nothing Around Us’ EP. In 2022, Mathame’s discography already held over 25 million streams.

Now in its entirety, ‘MEMO’ is a 13-track masterpiece that explores the depth of human emotion. Mathame tells the story of a transcendental journey through ethereal rhythms, pulsating basslines, and melodic synths. The LP leads with intimate elegance in “Unreality” while hypnotic tracks like “The Doors” and “To Hope” exude dancefloor euphoria. Mathame also includes “Believe” featuring Camelphat, curating a delicate balance of seductive and introspective soundscapes.

Three years in the making, ‘MEMO’ is the duo’s comprehensive time capsule. Mathame comments, “All the tracks have different stories, some of the tracks took one day to create, others took months. When there was something that we felt was meaningful and emotional to say, we collected these ideas.”

Known for pioneering AV shows in the techno scene, the duo’s live performances transport the audience into an immersive realm. Turning their experiences into sonic landscapes and alchemizing that into sci-fi, film, and pop culture-inspired visuals is the essence of the Mathame universe. 

The brothers’ otherworldly audio and visual integration recently captivated the Brooklyn Mirage, Coachella, and the Ultra Miami Resistance stage. Now Mathame prepares to go global with ‘MEMO’ in full force. With upcoming events like Tomorrowland, Ultra Europe, and Sonus Festival, Mathame’s full spectrum storytelling is a sight to see this summer.
