Los Angeles Welcomes New Music Venue The Bellwether with Stacked Grand Opening Lineup

Calling all LA party people: The City of Angels’ nightlife is about to get a whole lot more heavenly with the grand opening of The Bellwether.

From the Greek to the Troubadour, the Whisky a Go Go to the Roxy, there’s no doubt that Los Angeles is a city chockful of historic venues that have housed some of the most iconic performers for generations. And when it comes to having great spaces to see live music, the old saying ‘the more, the merrier’ really is true–which is where The Bellwether, LA’s newest music venue, comes into play.

The Bellwether, touted as an independent, multi-genre live music and nightlife destination in the heart of LA, isn’t just opening this summer–it’s opening with a bang. Founded by Teragram Presents’ Michael Swier in partnership with Another Planet Entertainment (APE), the 1600-capacity venue boasts a large ballroom, sweeping open-air patio, VIP room, private event space, and a restaurant lounge with a bar.

What could possibly be as captivating as the space itself? The inaugural lineup, of course. The Bellwether pulled out all the stops when booking talent for their opening summer series, tapping respected artists across all genres as promised. The grand opening itself, set to take place on July 11, features electronic rock duo Phantogram playing their first LA show in over three years (come on, who doesn’t love a comeback?).

But that’s not all: In addition to Phantogram, HAIM is slated to perform a special two-night run in their hometown; Puerto Rican duo Buscabulla will take the stage; and legendary DJ Porter Robinson is set to do a three-day takeover of the entire venue–and this is all just during the opening week. Other notable acts throughout the summer include Carly Rae Jepsen, Tegan and Sara, Isaiah Rashad, The Head and The Heart, Gus Dapperton, and Tove Lo.

While The Bellwether has a little something for everyone, they have a whole lot for the electronic crowd. The new venue will welcome American producer Tycho to their stage on July 13, along with the aforementioned takeover by Porter Robinson featuring ‘No Originals DJ Set’ on July 27, ‘air2earth’ on July 28, and ‘Porter Robinson DJ Set’ on July 29.

Still not satisfied? On August 26, The Bellwether will host Fool’s Gold 15th Anniversary party with the iconic A-Trak himself and special guests to be announced. And that’s just the short list of iconic shows that are set to take place at what will soon be an iconic venue.
