GRiZ Drops Highly-Anticipated Remix of John Summit’s “Where You Are”

GRIZ Releases the Festival Sweeping, Speaker Breaking Remix to JOhn Summit’s “Where you Are”

Denver-based DJ and producer GRiZ is set to release his highly anticipated remix of John Summit’s hit single, “Where You Are” featuring Hayla, on Friday, June 2nd! Eager ears have been awaiting this remix after it has taken the festival circuit by storm, having been played at EDC Las Vegas during Subjohnics, Griztronics sets, and during GRiZ and John Summit’s own shows. This remix marks the first official remix to be released for ‘Where You Are,” and hopefully not the last.

“Where You Are” seems to be the resounding song of the summer according to most social media outlets, the original song took over the speakers at EDC Las Vegas two weeks ago. John Summit noted what an amazing feeling that was for him, and now with the house song entering dubstep territory, it is guaranteed to become an even larger musical sensation.

GRiZ adds a fresh and unique touch of dubstep to the original track, incorporating wonky wubs and uplifting melodies that will enthrall even the biggest bass-head. GRiZ known for his heavy bassline and deep saxophone influence takes this track to the next level. As a self-proclaimed bass-head, who loves GRiZ this marriage of sound between our resident house music king, John Summit, is magic to the ears. I would be lying if I said this track hasn’t made me tear up once, or twice.

GRiZ’s remix elevates the emotional impact of the song, the beat causes a sense of emotion; happiness, longing for someone you love, and most importantly the thrill behind expressing emotion. The remix made its major debut from John Summit during EDC Las Vegas when he played it as a surprise during his B2B with Subtronics at EDC Las Vegas’ Circuit Grounds stage. The crowd, already on a high from the surprise b2b absolutely lost it, as did listeners at home when the set dropped last week.

GRiZ and John Summit have teamed up to create a masterpiece fusing two genres of music, dubstep and house music, with the ability to transcend the likes of even the most exclusive house or dubstep fan.
