Dom Dolla Shares Tribute to ‘One of His Greatest Inspirations’ Green Velvet

Dom Dolla shared a heartfelt message of how Green Velvet is one of his biggest inspirations along with some intel of their humorous friendship.

The house music DJ and producer took to Instagram in early May following a b2b with the house techno legend Green Velvet at Project Glow in Washington D.C. to express his appreciation for him. Dom Dolla said: “Green Velvet is one of my greatest inspirations as a producer and DJ. I’m lucky to call him a friend.”

He explained that Green Velvet helped him shape his music along with encouraging him to try new things. Green Velvet has made ground-breaking music that has inspired many house techno artists over the years. While Dom Dolla has been dominating the scene lately with back-to-back top hits like “Rhyme Dust.”

Dom Dolla joked about how although he and Green Velvet do have a great bond, he is not too fond of his food taste. He said Green Velvet has encouraged him to try “terrible food” and that he’ll “learn his lessons.” Shockingly, Dom Dolla also revealed he is trying to get Green Velvet to appreciate country music which was followed by “….” – and we may need an update on the outcome of that.

Lastly, Dom Dolla ended his post ensuring it’s all jokes, and said: “he does his best to humor me.” Then thanked Green Velvet for being a legend and how it is always too much fun doing b2bs together.

Green Velvet recently announced a mini LalaLand tour with Factory 93. He is headed to Washington D.C. at Echostage on August 5 and Los Angeles at Naud St on August 12.

Dom Dolla has a stacked schedule ahead of him. He is headed to Movement Festival next, some international stops, Day Trip, and more. He is also just days away from his newest release, a highly anticipated track with Nelly Furtado called “Eat Your Man” on June 2nd.
