How to Win $10k Worth of Equipment and a Release on Nervous Records with the Beatport Global Remix Challenge

Beatport has announced its Global Remix Challenge, giving producers the opportunity to win a huge prize package and a release on Nervous Records.

Electronic music powerhouse, Beatport, is teaming up with Loopcloud and LabelRadar to bring back their Global Remix Challenge centered on “How He Works” by Louie Vega. They are encouaging producers to twist the single to fit their own unique style. An entry come with the chance to win a music production prize worth over $9,500 and release a track on Nervous Records.

Two runner-ups are receiving bundles with software from Moog, XLN Audio, Gforce, and others. Every prize-winner gets a year-long subscription to Beatport Streaming and Loopcloud Studio. Both have gained recognition for the abilities that they provide producers with.

Louie Vega has been changing the electronic music scene for decades, adding a touch of every genre to his creations. The artist does not shy away from any music – instead , he embraces it, promoting inclusion in art. The Grammy winner has worked with Nervous Records before and released “How He Works” on the label in 2020. 

“As one of the longest-standing dance music labels, we feel it’s our duty to ensure the next generation of producers can also draw inspiration from Louie and his work. To that end, we are thrilled to collaborate with Louie and make one of his recent hits, “How He Works,” available for remixing in Beatport’s Global Remix Challenge,” the record label’s president, Michael Weiss, stated.

Beatport allows users to download and stream music into their own software and hardware through one hub. Loopcloud, who is also on board, provides over four-million samples to use for free and LabelRadar makes submitting demos easier. In order to be up for consideration, producers must use at least one of the samples on Loopcloud.

Participants’ remixes of “How He Works” by Louie Vega must be submitted to LabelRadar by May 23. After Nervous Records goes through the submissions, they are announcing the winner on June 20 via Beatport’s social media platforms. Stay up-to-date on the challenge here.
