Zeds Dead Touches on Techno with New HNTR Collab “Aftertaste ft. AIDN”

“Aftertaste ft. AIDN,” Zeds Dead’s newest collaboration delves into a new genre for the duo, calling on HNTR to create an electrifying techno track.

On May 5, Canadian producers Zeds Dead and HNTR are dropping their newest collaboration, “Aftertaste,” featuring AIDN. The iconic pair is dipping their toes into techno with the single, highlighting their own ability to defy genres and HNTR’s house and techno. “Aftertaste” showcases both the duo and HNTR’s immensely unique sounds.

Zeds Dead has been making their mark on electronic music since the late-2000s with their bass-bending dubstep. “Aftertaste” is melodic and wonky with AIDN’s smooth vocals. The collaboration includes each artist’s funky synths and thumping beats, morphing their styles to create an underground, nostalgic-sounding techno song.

The track is premiering on Altered States, Zeds Dead’s record label. Altered States is gaining traction for putting a spotlight on house, techno, and downtempo. After founding two labels, including Deadbeats, they are constantly supporting emerging artists and looking for striking talent.

Hunter Siegel has had a relationship with Zeds Dead since they got their start and welcomed him onto the Deadbeats label with his single, “Fading,” in 2018. He then debuted his alias, HNTR, in 2020 and later went on to win the Juno Award’s “Best Underground Dance Single” in 2022. The producer has been rising in the music scene with his darker techno and his label, No Neon.

“Aftertaste (ft. AIDN)” is sure to continue Zeds Dead’s pattern of making fresh, new music that defies listeners’ expectations and becomes a fan favorite. Leaning on HNTR to release their first-ever techno track makes sense and creates a powerhouse collaboration.

All three artists and incredibly talented – endlessly curating events and making music – and continue to take the scene by storm. Listen to Zeds Dead’s techno debut with HNTR, “Aftertaste,” now on every streaming platform.
