Best Surprise Sets and Special Back-to-Back Performances at Coachella 2023

From late-night after parties, to the DoLaB, to the Yuma tent, discover some of the best performances at Coachella 2023.

It’s been a week since Coachella 2023 officially ended and people are still raving about both weekends. From photo dumps to concert-long stories, this past Coachella was definitely one for the books. As we begin to unwind and go through our camera rolls, we want to break down some of the best sets of both weekends and even highlight some of the secret performances that you may have missed.

For weekend 1, one of the biggest highlights was the DoLaB. The DoLaB not only had an amazing lineup including Mr.Carmack, The Glitch Mob, and Phantoms, but they had some of the best surprise guests. Their secret guests over the 3 days included James Blake, Vintage Culture b2b Mochakk, Odesza, Monolink, and Dombresky’s alter ego “Disco Dom”.

In addition to the DoLaB was Framework’s post-Coachella late night after party. This wasn’t just a typical after-party, this party took place inside an airport hangar. This amazing, private jet-filled party had a lineup containing Adam Beyer b2b Maceo Plex, Channel Tres (DJ Set), Gordo b2b Colyn, Camelphat b2b Carlita, Fisher b2b Chris Lake, and DJ Tennis b2b Chloé Caillet.

Furthermore, weekend 2 was filled with just as many gems. One of the biggest highlights was the Yuma tent being broadcasted on the live stream. Both attendees and live stream viewers could not stop talking about what went down in the Yuma tent. Some of the acts that blew people away were Pawsa b2b Dennis Cruz, Chris Stussy, Juliet Mendoza, Mochakk, Idris Elba, Keinemusik, Adam Beyer, and Hot Since 82. One Yuma outlier during weekend 2 was, Gordo. Due to several lineup changes, Gordo was able to slip into a 4 pm slot in the massive Sahara tent for a large-scale, and flame-fueled set.

Last but not least, we can’t leave you without mentioning the last and final set of Coachella 2023. TBA or how many of us know them as Four Tet, Fred again.. x, and Skrillex. The trio that has been having one of the most amazing years were the ones that saved Coachella. After Frank Ocean’s weekend one fiasco, Coachella needed a headliner and fast. The trio did not hesitate and the rest is history.

They began their set by walking on the mainstage catwalk onto an elevated stage that stood in the crowd. With the help of an amazing light show and minimal visuals, this set was simply incredible. Their story is unparalleled and this performance will go down in the Coachella history books.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
