John Summit Goes “Off The Grid” with Sold Out Camping Event in The Caverns

The Caverns Off The Grid event thrown by John Summit was the perfect example of a true “off the grid” event – everyone was getting weird and groovy in the caves.

The highly anticipated, sold-out in-minutes Off The Grid event was held in The Caverns located in Pelham, Tennessee, and was a two-night takeover with camping as an option. We were truly out there in the foothills surrounded by nature and good vibes. The cave rave was an underground outdoorsy dream for edm lovers – along with marking the first-ever house/techno show at The Caverns.

Both nights John Summit closed the show with epic sets and tons of energy as he has been hyping up the cave event and clearly put a lot of thought and heart into it for months. On Friday, the other headliners included Subrinse, Ardalan, and Mikey Lion. While on Saturday, the headliners included just Subrinse and Matt Sassari, then a three-hour performance from John Summit as he only played for two hours the first day.

John Summit posted comical pictures on social media during the event of him hanging around his camper with a sign that said: “I’m drunk, I’m high, and I’m in The Caverns” to get the “off the grid” energy started. The production was also impressive as the Off The Grid team used intricate lighting that reflected off the walls of the cave. All of the lasers incorporated beamed throughout the entire cave as well and gave a very intriguing vibe.

As music goes, John Summit didn’t shy away from any genre. Of course, he dove into his usual deep house, techno, and dance music tracks. But he even teased on social media that he would drop some dubstep/bass tracks and he made sure to deliver with a massive Subtronics “Gassed Up” drop and more. Taking on every genre in the middle of nowhere was a truly unique experience. The show felt exclusive as only 1,200 fans could make it to the sold-out event and John Summit made sure to make it special.

John Summit and Off The Grid have a stacked schedule ahead of them if you were unable to attend the events. Make sure to catch his next exclusive events at the Masonic Temple (Movement Afterparty) in Detroit, MI on May 29 and the Mirage Takeover in Brooklyn, NY on June 2. John Summit will also be headed to Breakaway in North Carolina on May 5, Sunset on the Sand in Miami on May 6, and Red Rocks in Colorado on May 14.

I remember hearing Edm for the first time and thinking I knew this type of music would change my life. I love all genres and the art that goes behind it all. You can catch me dancing to a wide range of tunes.
