Tiësto Showcases Passion for Formula 1 Racing in New Album ‘Drive’

Tiësto pays homage to Formula 1 on his latest album, Drive.

Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto is back with his seventh studio album, Drive. The 12-track package has a runtime of 31 minutes and features a vast array of sounds, beats and melodies that continue to enrich his brand. The wait is finally over, so be sure to give the new record a listen!

This is Tiësto’s first concept album since ‘Kaleidoscope’ in 2009. The visuals of the new album were inspired by the 2004 Monaco Grand Prix, during which a diamond worth $430,000 affixed to the front of a racecar went missing. In a broader sense, Drive is a tribute to the artist’s love for Formula 1 and its culture.

Tiësto said the following about the album: “I am so beyond excited for this project to be out in the world! This album is something anyone can enjoy on the dancefloor, in the gym, on a car ride, anywhere or anytime you are looking for incredible sonics and energy. Seeing how much everyone is loving the string of singles has been incredible, and it was amazing putting the full album all together.”

Aside from the official album release, Tiësto has treated his fans to an accompanying release. The DJ mix of Drive is also out now, which you can listen to here. The visuals for it are available here, but only click on it if you’re prepared to travel to a different dimension.

Aside from the visual components, the sound of Drive is designed to soundtrack a night out. Considering his entire career has been centered on enhancing the parting experience, this seems like the perfect theme for Tiësto!

Tiësto is scheduled to play his first Ibiza residency in over a decade every Tuesday from July 4 – August 29 at Ushuaïa Ibiza. Additionally, he will play a series of shows in the United States in support of his new album.
