Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet Set Will Close Coachella Weekend Two

EDM’s most beloved unofficial trio, Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet will be closing out Coachella on Sunday evening, following Blink-182’s set.

The best things in life are the ones we don’t plan, right? Well, dance music fans at Coachella can certainly agree. After Frank Ocean’s weekend two performance was canceled, the festival announced two more huge headliners: Blink-182 and Pangbourne House Mafia, aka Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet.

Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet first erected their iconic stage presence in London in January. The group was such a hit, that they took the show to New York City for a once-in-a-lifetime, sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. Only the lucky ones witnessed this extravaganza, and fans were left wondering when the group would perform again.

Well, don’t hold your breath. Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet are back again for another surprise show announcement, this time at one of the country’s largest multi-genre music festivals, Coachella, which spans across two weekends in Indio, California.

The group will play on the main stage on Sunday evening, following a performance by the American rock band, Blink-182. Although Coachella is a multi-genre event, it’s not common to witness an EDM show on the main stage. This announcement goes to show just how much dance music has skyrocketed in popularity. Not to mention, how highly sought-after Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet are as individual artists and as a group!

It’s difficult to predict what kind of set this impulsive DJ group will put together, but we know it’s going to be one for the history books. Four Tet announced the news via an Instagram post, and used “COUNTRY RIDDIM” by HOL! as the sound, and many fans are egging the DJ to play riddim in their Sunday night set. Could this be the first time Coachella hears riddim on the main stage?

Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet not only have a massive stage presence, but the group have a beloved studio presence as well. Listen to their collaborative track, “Baby Again” below:

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
