Skrillex Teases Two More Albums Coming in 2023 with Cryptic Tweet

Iconic EDM producer Skrillex shared a mysterious tweet that appears to indicate two additional albums dropping in 2023.

Skrillex already released two albums this year (not to mention, on the same day), ‘Quest For Fire’ and ‘Don’t Get Too Close.’ These two albums marked his first album release in nearly ten years. Both albums fused elements of hip-hop, pop, and electronic music.

Apparently, Skrillex isn’t stopping at these two albums and may have not one but two more in the works for 2023. Today, he tweeted a series of acronyms and abbreviations, reading “QFF,” “DGTC,” “SKRLX,” “CONTRA,” and the number “23.” See the tweet below or read the thread here:

While “QFF” stands for “Quest For Fire” and “DGTC” for “Don’t Get Too Close,” “SKRLX” may point to a self-titled album. In addition, “CONTRA” may be the title for the album or possibly represent something else. Finally, “23” is likely indicative of this year, 2023. The artist did not include any other details in this post or make any subsequent posts about it.

The thread was flooded with support from fans, some guesses as to what it could mean, and plenty of memes. Most fans are certain the teaser is for two albums, and it comes as no surprise after the DJ has been on a roll this year.

In addition to his momentum in the studio, Skrillex has been making a record-breaking number of appearances this year. His iconic, sold-out Madison Square Garden show alongside Fred again.. and Four Tet is still being talked about and will go down in the history books.

Skrillex is currently gearing up for another history-making performance at Red Rocks on April 29th. Tickets for the show were sold out almost instantly after they went on sale. The five-hour set will include new music, unreleased tunes, and perhaps a sneak peek into the forthcoming albums.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
