Elderbrook Explores Parenthood in Soulful Sophomore Album ‘Little Love’

Elderbrook releases his sophomore album ‘Little Love’ in which he explores a new love found in parenthood.

Released on March 31st, Elderbrook dropped his sophomore album ‘Little Love’ which explores parental love in all its multifaceted, complicated glory. 12 tracks long, Elderbrook explores this newfound love in the artist’s uniquely soulful and melodic take on progressive house music.

“It became clear that the overarching theme was about the messages I’d want to share with my children as they grow older”, the London-based artist says. “We all lived through such a bizarre and difficult few years during the pandemic but I was given the greatest gift and biggest responsibility of all in that time, and it seemed only fitting that my second album be a dedication to that, to them, my little loves.”

The first two songs “Just Like Us” and “I Need You” set the tone with two powerful synth-laden anthems, delivering heartfelt vocals about universal struggles that bring people together. These songs bring about the emotions Elderbrook feels about what it’s like now that he is a father and how overwhelming these emotions have been. The album continues with “Howl” about his daughter, in which he said, “it’s inspired by those sleepless nights listening to your child cry as you try and console them – I wanted her to know then, and always, that I’d be there for her.”

Tracks like “Wasted On You” and “Talk It Over” offer uplifting anthems that mix with Elderbrook’s soulful vocals and breezy melodic house arrangements. Ailbhe Reddy is the one feature on the album, which is the final track titled “Walk Away”. Production is done on “Howl” with Tourist, “Talk It Over” with Vintage Culture, and “I’ll Be Around” with Amtrac.

Right now, Elderbrook is finishing up his North American tour this month. He is also going to be performing at Coachella this year and will be performing songs from this album to fans. If you would like to get tickets for the remaining dates, you can purchase them off his website.
