Anabel Englund Becomes First Woman to Win Best Dance Artist at iHeartRadio Awards

iHeart Radio recognizes Anabel Englund, honoring her with the Best Dance Artist becoming the first woman to receive the award. 

Anabel Englund creates history by winning the iHeart Radio award for Best Dance Artist a first ever for a female performer. The California native was born into a long line of entertainers and musicians. Influenced by her late grandmother, Cloris Leachman, Anabel began singing early in life. In 2008, at 16 she commenced her singer-songwriter pursuit at ABC Family. Moreover, featured on “Electricity,” in 2013 after meeting Jamie Jones and Lee Foss.

Fast forward to a decade later with two studio albums and a countless number of singles and EPs and she has fortified her authority in electronic dance music. Nonetheless, it’s no surprise she was not only nominated for Best Dance Artist but won the honor. “WOWWW I really made HERSTORY LAST NIGHT by being the first female to ever win BEST DANCE ARTIST at the @iheartradio awards last night 🥹🥲🏆🫂,” her IG post captioned.  

In addition, to winning the Best Dance Artist award Ananbel also was the first woman to receive musical merit. Despite going up against, the Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto, and SOFI TUKKER, she prevailed! She shared her triumphant moment in victory with her fans. Even Chloe Holmes, Lee Foss’s wife applauded Anabel’s success, “Wow 🤩 ❤️🙌you deserve it all sunshine!”

Accordingly, what a magnificent celebration for her and women dance artists alike. The 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards were held on Thursday, March 27th at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angles. Quite fitting, considering International Women’s Day was a few weeks prior on March 8th. Notable, Beyoncé said it best, “Who runs the world? Girls!” A round of applause for all the Girl Bosses paving the way brick by brick. 

The house DJ is set to perform next on Labor Day weekend. Mark your calendar for the Bumbershoot 50th Anniversary Arts and Music Festival. In addition, the 2-day event will commence on September 2nd & 3rd. The lineup has a staggering 60-plus artists on their roster for the festivities. Including a delectable variety of eclectic genres and acts.

Notably, Fat Boy Slim, AFI, DESCENDENTS, Jawbreaker, Phantogram, Sleater-Kinney, Hunx and his Punx, and of course our girl. Most recently, Anabel attended EDMA in Miami performing and capturing one on ones with fellow artists. Overall, she has proven time and time again, Anabel is a force to be wrecking with. What a great way to kick off 2023, let’s see what’s to come next!
