Day Trip Expands Experience with Queen Mary Ship Travel Packages for June Festival

Day Trip Festival marks its second year at Queen Mary Waterfront with a special travel package aboard the historic vessel.

Insomniac’s Day Trip Festival will be expanding its experience by offering travel packages aboard the Queen Mary ship. The festival will return for a second year to Queen Mary Waterfront, just south of L.A., on June 24-25, 2023. With this latest announcement, Day Trip’s 2023 edition will undoubtedly make waves across the country.

Over two days, headliners will dance under the sun and soak up the open air during the region’s premier house music festival.  A historical moment for the city of Long Beach, the Queen Mary is reopening after three years exclusively for overnight stays. In partnership with Vibee, festivalgoers who purchase weekend travel packages will also have access to pre-parties and after-parties on board.

The Queen Mary, a retired ocean liner permanently docked in Long Beach since 1967, has been a popular tourist destination and event venue for decades. The ship’s temporary reopening will certainly attract a new wave of visitors and be an overall value-add to the city’s vibrant cultural scene. Furthermore, the travel packages affords attendees the convenience of never having to leave the festival grounds all weekend.

Day Trip’s return comes as house music reaches peak mainstream cultural relevance, thanks to artists like Drake and Beyonce. Day Trip Festival made its debut in 2019 and quickly became one of Southern California’s most anticipated events. The festival features a diverse range of musical acts, aiming to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all attendees.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
