Juliet Mendoza Invigorates Crowd At Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In LA

Juliet Mendoza Put On A 2 Hour Sundown Spectacle At LA’s Iconic Pershing Square

On July 22, LA native and Jackin Jill’s founder Juliet Mendoza took on Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles for a special 2-hour set. Around 5 o’clock, Juliet plugged in to begin her set and the rest was history. Her set was filled with a wide variety of house music, from new records to old-school hits.

What made this performance all the better was that her biggest fan was by her side, her mom. The entire set Juliet’s mom sported a “Juliet Mendoza” t-shirt and danced the afternoon away while her daughter took on her hometown LA crowd. Towards the end of her set, Hot Since 82 came out to show some love to Juliet as she began to close things out.

Following her performance, Hot Since 82 hopped on the decks for a 5-hour set that left LA fans energetic for more. Both DJs had the perfect synergy to give LA a day and night that they’ll never forget. It’s days like these where people can disconnect, dance and appreciate house music for what it really is.

As mentioned earlier, Juliet is the founder of Jackin Jill’s. Jackin Jill’s formerly Jill’s House is a platform for woman-identified DJs to share their sound with the house community. From hosting monthly parties at Koreatown’s Apt 503 to launching a podcast and livestream series, Juliet and her team are keeping busy. In an interview with Voyage LA, Juliet said “We are here to support the house culture and are trying our best to keep this music alive.” I think it’s safe to say that Juliet is doing just that through her performances, events, and mission to bring women, music, and cultures together.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
