Swedish House Mafia Shares Heart-Warming Memories from Early Years of EDM

The iconic music group, Swedish House Mafia, got sentimental on Instagram over their early years in the industry.

Swedish House Mafia gave fans a peek in their digital scrapbook with a series of photos on Instagram documenting their early days as an electronic music group.

The series of pictures included photos of the group DJing, relaxing in robes, backstage, on stage, in front of large crowds, and photos of large crowds in general.

The pictures look to be taken on an old digital camera or an early smartphone, as the quality is very pixelated and the colors are not fully true to the real tones we would see in person.

Swedish House Mafia is made up of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. The three formed what would become an electronic music supergroup in 2007. Prior to joining forces, they all pursued careers as solo musicians under various aliases.

Their fates collided after the three and Swedish DJ Eric Prydz performed a series of shows as a unit where fans labeled the four Swedish House Mafia.

Ever since the name stuck and was made official in March of 2007 at the Winter Music Conference.

Their first production came out later the same year which was a collaboration with the producer Laidback Luke on a single titled “Get Dumb.” However, it wouldn’t be released under the alias Swedish House Mafia until the unveiling of their first album ‘Until One.’

Since their inception, the group has been praised as the faces of mainstream progressive house music and credited for “setting the tone for the EDM boom of the early 2010s, more than any other act in modern dance music” by DJ Mag.

The group has been nominated for dozens of awards including a Billboard Music Award, a Grammy, and many more. Even having won an MTV European Music Award, an International Dance Music Award, and a handful of other honors.

All of this success followed its humble beginnings in the series of photos shared recently by the group.
