ODESZA TWEET SPARKS HOPE OF FORTHCOMING MUSIC – [READ]

ODESZA TWEET HAS FANS GOING BEYOND BANANAS AT THE IDEA OF NEW RELEASES

As the dawning of our generation’s one year covid-versary approaches, we reflect upon all the new music released in 2020, an era of quarantine grinding. Amidst the fervent frenzy of proliferation, ODESZA dropped their highly anticipated album BRONSON, a collaborative release with Sydney-metro-area DJ Golden Features. Although production for the album before the befalling of plague, corona’s isolation certainly expedited the release.

With little to no time since that album drop, ODESZA tweeted teases of new music releases, tantalizing fans and setting expectations high. And although ODESZA wasn’t particularly specific about what exactly they are working on, we can be sure it’s something thoughtful, imaginative, and melodic. Fans echoed this idea with an uproarious positive response on twitter, exclaiming excitement for the promise of new ODESZA releases.

In terms of their most recent album BRONSON, ODESZA shared elements of their creative process with Golden Features. “I sent a melody (to ODESZA) and they sent me back this incredible almost-finished song,” commented Golden Features. “They’d added these drums that I never would have picked, this bass that I never would have picked. That was the beauty of the whole project. Ideas that usually get a red light, where we’d normally be like, ‘This doesn’t sound like ODESZA,’ or ‘This doesn’t sound like Golden Features,’ got a green light.”

Golden Features even went on to  “It felt like we were all very open-minded. There weren’t any limitations; we weren’t trying to put ourselves in a box. We were always learning.” The three collaborators also gave individual breakdowns/analysis of each song off the album, giving insight into the conceptualization of the album and their general music process.
