“I LIKE TO MOVE IT” DJ ERICK MORILLO FOUND DEAD AT 49

I like to move it move it, I like to move it move it. No matter how old you are or what music you like to listen to, there’s no doubt in mind that a particular song comes to mind when you hear these anthems being chanted aloud. As shocking as this may sound, DJ Erick Morillo, most known for his 1993 hit “I Like To Move It,” was found dead this morning in Miami Beach. Although the circumstances that lead to his death is still unclear, it’s still hard to believe that he’s gone at such a young age.

A few weeks ago, Morillo was arrested in Miami and charged with sexual battery offenses. The victim, who had just played a gig with Morillo hours before the incident, claims to have been assaulted by Morillo on various different sexual encounters, although he denied these accusations, the rape kit test came out positive. Not too long after, he turned himself in to the authorities. The court hearing was scheduled for this week, the same week Morillo was found dead.
