EMANCIPATOR CURATES LOCI RECORDS’ FIRST “CHILL AT HOME” PLAYLIST

While we’re all pretty much stuck at home, we can be extra thankful we still have music. Loci Records has worked to come up with a brand new playlist series, “Chill at Home”. Portland-based producer Emancipator has been selected to take the reins on the first installment.

Featuring artists like Maribou State, Khruangbin, Populous, Jamie xx, and Tourist among others, “Chill at Home” is designed to bring listeners a sense of comfort. Each track instills an unavoidable feeling of peace and wellness, something we can all benefit from during this time. This playlist reminds us that all we really need in life are good beats.

Loci Records’ new rotating playlist will present a new curator every two weeks. So as long as the chaos and uncertainty continues to go on in the world, at least we have the future of “Chill at Home” to look forward to. The creators of “Chill at Home” knew exactly the vibe we needed when bringing the series to fruition.

While you’re jamming out to Emancipator’s selections, you can also look forward to the release of his sixth studio album. Mountain of Memory will be released on April 3rd via Loci Records. Although Emancipator was originally scheduled to tour this spring, his Emancipator Ensemble tour will now take place later on in the summer. Beginning July 9th, he will touch in major cities across North America, including San Francisco, Vancouver, and Los Angeles. The versatile artist will then continue the tour into the fall.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
